Wrapped Up Toes

Such cute little toes! I’m up late processing the photos from this sweet baby’s session and I couldn’t resist sharing this one.

Baby Ellie

I have been neglectful, I asked Ellie’s parents if they would mind me sharing some photos from Ellie’s session awhile ago and they must have thought I’d forgotten! I couldn’t let it go by without showing a few though, she slept soundly the whole time, she’s just so sweet and peaceful and that hair!! She’s going to be a heart-breaker.

Birth Photography

I’ve just added a new section to the website that gives details of an exciting new type of session that I’m now offering. Just a few weeks ago I photographed a birth for the first time and am already on call to photograph another any day now. It’s something that hasn’t really been available in Ireland before now, although it’s very popular in the USA and in Australia, as well as gaining popularity in the UK. I’m extremely proud to be offering this to Irish mums and the new section here on the website goes into more detail about how it works. It’s a new idea here in Ireland so I’m sure many of you might have a mixed reaction to it at first, but having seen the work of other birth photographers and having experienced it first hand for myself, I’m confident Irish mums will embrace it too.

Right now, for practical reasons, I’m only able to offer it to mums who are having a home birth within the South Dublin/ North Wicklow area but if it’s something you are interested in please check out my birth photography page where you can also see a slideshow of the birth I photographed just a few weeks ago.

I also want to add a huge thank you to Sue and Tadhg for inviting me into their home to photograph sweet little Faye’s arrival. They have been so generous in allowing me to post these photographs and their slideshow to help inspire other Mums. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect couple for my introduction into birth photography.

Helen Gatenby Holt - Hi Claire

I am having a home water birth in July in Wicklow and am strongly considering a photographer being present. I think it would be a beautiful thing to have and your work is very moving.
Perhaps we could have a chat?

Ps I’m delighted there’s someone exploring this fine art in Ireland finally and so happy to gave found your website. 🙂

Brand New Look

If you’re reading this on Google Reader or perhaps Facebook you won’t have noticed anything different (I hope! If not I’ve broken something!), but has had a little spruce up for the new year. There are brand new photographs on the black and white gallery as well as 3 new galleries showing colour photographs, photographs of families with their latest edition and a special gallery just for those slightly older babies who have grown past the newborn stage. Hopefully the site is easy to navigate and easy on the eyes but I’d love to get any feedback if you have the time to spare especially if you find that I have broken something along the way. Just leave a comment or you can even try out my new contact form.

When You’re Smiling

Happy New Year! Here are a few of my favourite smiles of 2011, there were so many more but I couldn’t fit them all in. To all my lovely clients and their sweet babies, thank you for a wonderful year and I wish you health and happiness for 2012.
